Millennium Concepts, Inc. of Wichita has received a follow-on order for 10 ship sets of production crew and passenger seats from Quest Aircraft for its Kodiak utility aircraft. Millennium developed and certified the 21G passenger and 26G crew seats for the Sandpoint, Idaho-based airframe manufacturer, receiving Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval earlier this year. This latest order is for eighty passenger and twenty crew seats for the single-engine turboprop airplane.
“We’re extremely pleased to receive this order for fabrication and assembly of production seats as a follow-on to the engineering, documentation, certification, and supply chain management we’ve provided for Quest on the Kodiak,” noted Simon Hornblow, Millennium Concept’s program director for the airplane. “This is a relationship that we hope will continue to grow as the airplane enters service.”
Millennium Concepts has worked closely with Quest on the design, certification, and fabrication of components for the Kodiak’s various interior packages—the Tundra, Timberline, and Summit. The eight to ten passenger configurations will offer a range from rugged utility to a business-aircraft style design, featuring passenger amenities similar to those developed by Millennium for Cessna and marketed as part of the Caravan’s Oasis interior.
Millennium Concepts is involved in the development and certification of aircraft interiors for a variety of commercial aircraft, ranging from single engine, single pilot airplanes to VVIP jumbo jets. Since its founding in 1999, it has provided engineering and related services, including “turn-key” designs, fabrication and completions for aircraft interiors on models ranging from the Cessna Grand Caravan to the Boeing Business Jet.
