Whether consulting for an outside production holder, or creating new engineering design data from scratch to support our internal product lines, Millennium possesses both the in-house experience and technical versatility to complete projects both large and small.
We’re equally at home engineering a one of a kind interior for a VVIP Boeing airplane, or engineering a new product seat, cabinet, or entire floorplan with the intent of mass production.
Our engineering team consists of seat and crashworthiness specialists, cabinet engineering specialists, and interior specialists. The team includes both design engineers and technical analysts to tackle just about any aviation interior engineering project.
Our design capabilities range from pen sketches to state-of-the-art Unigraphics Industrial Design software capable of producing photorealistic renderings. We can sketch concepts and ideas, render and illustrate the product, create 3-D models, or make rapid prototypes and conduct ergonomic studies. Our design department employs full time Industrial Designers with extensive experience in the aircraft industry.
Millennium’s team is comprised of considerably more fabrication and manufacturing personnel than engineering personnel. Additionally, the team of manufacturing personnel continues to outpace the growth in engineering personnel, due to the continued emphasis on production.
We’re excited about the recent addition of CNC capability, which allows both the seating and cabinet divisions to realize greater efficiencies.
The shop floor space was doubled in 2004 with a significant building expansion. In 2007, another facility adjacent to the main building was secured, also increasing the shop space substantially.
Millennium possesses a broad range of technical expertise. Millennium’s test experience encompasses both static and dynamic strength evaluations. Our technical services include static analysis, interior compliance inspections, design compliance reports, damage tolerance analysis, equipment testing, EMI/EMC test programs, engine ice ingestion, performance degradation and drag assessments, weight / balance, development of IFCA (instructions for continued airworthiness), and reports in other disciplines.
Most importantly, Millennium maintains a great working relationship with the regulatory agencies, as evidenced by our demonstrated in- house ability to obtain supplemental type certificates (STC) and technical standard orders (TSO) from the Federal Aviation Administration.
When it comes to development and certification tests for meeting government imposed standards, Millennium Concepts excels. With an on-site DER to act as liaison and direct compliance and conformity efforts, both development and FAA certification tests are common practice within the organization.
Millennium has designed and fabricated a static test fixture capable of full-scale inertial load tests, exceeding 50,000 lbs for the purpose of demonstrating compliance to FAA standards.
Additionally, a flammability test laboratory was designed and fabricated to demonstrate compliance with FAA flammability standards. Other testing conducted in its laboratory include materials testing, strength, endurance, and abuse testing.
These facilities and capabilities allow Millennium to certify, not only its internal products, but Millennium has also has certified several competitors' products in its laboratories.
Millennium Concepts, Inc. maintains a Fabrication Inspection System (FIS) that has been approved by the FAA.
Millennium is a production approval holder (FAA-PMA) and has full authority to manufacture quality components that will be installed in an airplane. Additionally, Millennium is the holder of a technical standard order authorization (FAA TSO) for 26g and 21g seating products.
